Spring 2021 Premiere Virtual Concert.
HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING, premiered online at 7pm on Saturday, June 12, 2021! The evening of choral music aired on both our Facebook and YouTube pages. It was an innovative, first ever 'virtual concert' with strict safety protocols (pre-recorded and consolidated with video) to address the safety and protection of our BCC community while still able to celebrate the joy of singing!
HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING features Prelude Choir (2nd-5th grade singers), Chamber Choir (6th-12th grade singers) and Acapella (our advanced ensemble). The program ranges from popular songs like "Sing" (made popular on Sesame Street) and "Sing Sing Sing (With a Swing)" (by Louis Prima) to choral classics, such as George F. Handel's "Sing for Joy" from the oratorio Judas Maccabaeus. Acapella performed the upbeat Pentatonix song, "Sing," as well as a beautiful choral setting of Sarah Quartel's original composition, "As You Sing."
Barrington's Children's Choir is under the leadership of Artistic Director, Tom Vendafreddo and Prelude Choir director, Joyce Haqq. Celia Villacres is our accompanist.
We are so proud of our BCC family for pulling together such a wonderful virtual experience during this unprecedented time, and we hope you enjoy!
