Our Artistic Director and Conductors
Artistic Director &
Conductor: Carol Sesso
Chamber Choir / Prelude Choir / AcaBellas / Bel Canto
With more than 40 years of musical experience, Carol has been the music director at various churches, directed high school, and children's choirs, children's musicals and plays, and has taught and coached piano and voice students. In District 220 she taught music at all levels, elementary through high school, coaching award winning acapella ensembles and choirs. In 2007 she joined the staff of BCC as an accompanist for the Noel Choir. A few years later she became the Intermediate Ensemble director, and in the spring of 2017 Carol was named Artistic Director.
Building on the vision and mission established by founder Peggy Crawford, Carol's desire is that the choristers would find their experience with BCC to be one of connectedness, collaboration and community. She is driven by the belief that singing in our choirs develops not only musical skills, but also self confidence, self expression, discipline, work habits, team cooperation, poise, and life long friendships.
Carol and her husband, Ralph, are long time residents of Barrington. They are the proud parents of four adult children, two of whom were BCC choristers. When she isn't conducting rehearsals or planning performances, she thoroughly enjoys spending time with her 8 grandkids! Carol holds a bachelors degree from the University of Michigan. Her graduate study was performed at Vandercook College of Music.
